With our return to Ponds Forge new COVID-19 processes and a helpful video have been added to our COVID resources page, accessible through the Resources list on the left hand side of the website, here.  These documents will be updated and added to as the need arises so please visit this section regularly to keep up to date with the latest guidance and control forms. Now with a video to highlight points to oberve as we get back to swimming at Ponds Forge.

During lockdown it has been incredible to see all of our swimmers exercising and finding ways to maintain their fitness upon their return to the pool. To say we are proud of each swimmer is an understatement. However, a special mention needs to go to Daisy Haigh in JOD. Throughout lockdown, Daisy swam in a pop up pool and bungee in her back garden every day, in order to keep fit but also raise money for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Daisy set a goal of swimming 5K in five days, to raise as much money as possible. I am pleased to say that Daisy achieved her goal and managed to raise £910 for an amazing charity. Daisy also appeared on BBC Radio Sheffield to talk about her achievement and talked about how much she loves the club and swimming.

We at COSSS are extremely proud of Daisy for doing this and Charlotte is privileged to coach Daisy daily. For further information on her achievement, please see the link below.

As of April 15th please do not send any further gala entries.  Ponds Forge is closed and at the moment we have no information as to when it might reopen or when the Government policy on mass gatherings may change to allow our events to take place.  We will update our Forthcoming Galas Page as and when we have further information.  Until then we wish you all well, and stay safe.

The final round of this year’s Barnsley minors took place in Askern. Led by Charlotte and Lauren, Team Steel won this round emphatically and were crowned Division 3 champions meaning we are moving up to Division two next year.
