Established in 1981 we are South Yorkshire’s premier competitive swimming club and train at the prestigious Ponds Forge International Sports Centre in Sheffield. Our aim is to compete at the highest levels in the sport, and within our squads we have many International swimmers and National medallists. We also compete at district, county and regional levels, including various open meets through-out the year. We are an ASA Beacon Club and are regularly ranked in the top 10 clubs in Great Britain.

James Crisp booked his spot on the plane to Rio at the British Para-swimming International Meet at Tollcross on the 24th April. He posted the consideration time in the heats of the 100 back, clocking 1.05.09, and then improved his figures in the evening final by swimming 1.04.24. Having won the National B Final in the previous two years, this year COSSS was the North East representative in the National Arena A final and finished in a commendable 5th place.

Swimmers from Regional Squad, JO1, JO2 and JO3 competed at a very hot Huddersfield Leisure Centre on Sunday 17th April at the level 3 Borough of Kirklees Spring Meet.

Swimmers from AGN, JO1 and Regional squads travelled to the City of Liverpool April Long Course Meet over the weekend of the 16th-17th April, hoping to set some PBs as we enter the middle of the long course season.

Max Litchfield and Ellie Faulkner have been selected for Team GB for the Rio Olympics this summer. They are part a group of 26 swimmers selected by British Swimming following their performances at the British Championships in Glasgow. This is a magnificent achievement for them both, with Ellie making the Olympic team for the second time. Everyone at COSSS wishes them well and is incredibly proud of their achievements!

Senior Elite swimmer Max Litchfield delivered one of the performances of the week at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre to win the men's open 400 IM in a time of 4.12.03, smashing his personal best and English record. Max was one of twenty-three swimmers from Senior Elite and AGN squads to qualify for British Swimming's showcase event which this year acted as the Olympic Trials and for qualification for the European Junior Championships.
